Lowell won their second straight OK White Championship with a 14-0 win over the East Grand Rapids Pioneers on Wednesday. Here is an article from the Grand Rapids Press by Steve Vedder...
"Lowell baseball team’s the Boss in O-K White Conference Steve Vedder | The Grand Rapids Press, May 21, 2009 12:35 a.m.
EAST GRAND RAPIDS -- One could call Lowell senior Torsten Boss a luxury.
After the Red Arrows baseball team used up much of their pitching while battling through a doubleheader Monday against East Grand Rapids that did nothing to decide the O-K White league title, both coaches said Wednesday's game between the teams would be decided by pitching depth.
Enter Boss, who threw a two-hitter as the Red Arrows thumped the Pioneers 14-0 in five innings to successfully defend their league title."

The Red Arrows welcome back the idea of spring for the 2009 baseball season with high expectations based on the commitment the players are making in the off-season. The Red Arrows finished last year's season, with a 31-7 overall record. The Red Arrows won the OK White Conference Championship with a record of 12-1 in the League. The Red Arrows were also crowned District Champions. The Arrows fell to the Jenison Wildcats in the Regional Final by a score of 2-0. Coach Miller commented on this," Last year we accomplished many things and we are all proud of those accomplishments, however, a new year creates new competition for positions which starts this off-season." |
